Hi everyone! Here is my intro to itch.io and solo develpment.
CONCRETE_ECHO, a brutalist scifi tactical shooter roguelite styled up like a retro 90s game, inspired by tarkov, quake, and binding of isaac.
It is free to play, feel free to support me with the pay what you like model on itch.
I will be posting more updates regularly as I am having too much fun building this game.
AI GENERATED CODE Transparency Notice:
This game was build in part with aistudio, google gemini 3 pro, and Google Antigravity. I have many years of game development background and over 20 years of design and web development experience, I just wanted to try vibe coding a full working FPS game in a web stack as an educational project. All the code is open sourced on my github, please avoid discussion about ai slop and vibe coding in a negative sense. This project is to show that procedural tooling can be powerful in the right hands with the lens of an artist and a developer. I still check over my code manually and all art assets are build out of code, or are procedurally generated on load with math and algorithms. Procedural audio is built using web audio api and web speech api (TTS). I do not use ai images, ai audio, or ai generated videos. The ai was used as a pair programmer with insane patience for my constant nagging and fine tuning. This is entirely my brain child, every system is integrated because it belongs here, I had full control over every aspect of the games look and feel, tuning, systems, tech stack etc.
I have released games with two other partners in MegaDwarfGames on Steam(God of Word) pre-generative ai. I have been building games in flash and godot for almost 20 years as well. The code involved in this project is just currently a bit challenging to integrate alone at my current skill level, even with years of coding experience. It is a very technical project made to be an educational tool on HOW to correctly build retro 3d games using a web stack.

Please leave comments and feedback, I support accessibility as well. If there are any options you'd like to see to make this easier to use(not play sorry its tough by design) let me know. I am aiming to add some more customization in the controls but currently it is low on my priority. First thing first is to flesh out the level gen and the roguelite systems, and fix some general bugs.
